Project with Espoir pour l’enfance

Espoir pour l’Enfance is a local NGO working with families living with HIV/AIDS. Often affected by opportunistic diseases and at great risk of stigmatization by their peers, these children have found in the project a key accompaniment.

In addition to covering the children’s school fees, the three-year project works with a group of monitors who follow up with teachers in schools and also at home, involving mothers, fathers or guardians in the child’s progress. The aim is to increase the involvement and interest of families in their children’s education and to make teachers more sensitive to the issue of HIV/AIDS. A second component is the reinforcement of the family’s economic activities, aimed at ensuring their sustainability after the end of the project. At the end of the project, we want families to have increased their family resources to be able to pay for school fees and school materials. This component will be worked on with training in entrepreneurship and access to microcredits.
