PROJECT WITH NGO AGORA
This 3-year project focuses on malnutrition, particularly during the first 1000 days of a child’s life, when it is most devastating. It leads to irreversible consequences: stunting, morbidity, physical and mental disability.
Malnutrition feeds the vicious circle of poverty and underdevelopment, preventing new generations from contributing to the development of their country. This is why, in addition to public health problems, preventing malnutrition is a major development challenge.
To break the vicious circle of malnutrition-disease-poverty, the Nutripath programme works to prevent malnutrition, mainly among children aged 6 to 59 months, women of childbearing age, pregnant or breastfeeding women, but also with households in the peri-urban area of the Saint-Louis region. Nutripath is a malnutrition prevention programme in the Saint-Louis region with an innovative approach combining awareness raising, reinforced feeding and support in the community management of malnutrition and the fight against all forms of malnutrition, mainly among women and children from 0 to 5 years old.
